Lenovo A6000 CM 12.1 64 Bit Custom ROM

We’re glad to announce that once again our friend Stuep has ported CyanogenMod 12.1 to Lenovo A6000/Plus and it is far better than the Stock VIBE UI lollipop which is still running on Android Lollipop 5.0.2 but CM12.1 is based on Lollipop 5.1 with more performance and stability. But as we all know unofficial custom ROMs are not always stable and yes this custom ROM has few bugs which have come to our notice like the proximity sensor doesn’t work on CM12.1 (64 bit) but it pretty much works in the 32-bit version.

If you’re not aware of the 32 bit and 64 bit then you can google it for sure for better answers but let us tell you about 64 bit in a gist:

  1. It will do everything better and last longer
  2. It can handle more memory
  3. It can run your existing apps faster
  4. It should be more secure
  5. It will include some real screamers

Please read the guide very carefully as it is a little bit lengthy but you will be able to install CM 12.1 on your Lenovo A6000 within 5-10 minutes.

  • Proximity Sensor not working
  • When someone calls, the UI is displayed after 5-8 seconds
  • Auto Brightness doesn’t work

We’ll advice you to download and install CM11 if you’re on Lenovo A6000 because it is the best rom for the device so far but it is based on Kitkat 4.4.4 and it has a descent battery backup unlike the Lollipop versions. If you’re on Lenovo A6000 Plus then download MIUI 7 Lite which is again based on Kitkat and is way much better than CM12 or Mokee rom. We do appreciate and respect the hard work of Stuep Dec for bringing these custom roms based on Lollipop but when there is no stability then we are bound to go back to a stable and smooth rom. The rest choice is yours and techolite.com is always there to help you guys.

Hi again. Did you say all bugs are corrected? Proximity sensor still doesn’t work. Also there are not all languages available. Is it possible to add missing languages somehow? Thanx in advance, Stepan

Thanx for the effort. I have two questions.
    1. Is it possible to revert back to unrooted stock Kitkat (if this ROM doesn’t work for me)?
    2. Does the author of this CM 12.1 plan to release bugfixes for the sensors and natwork issues?
