Microsoft has unveiled a new Xbox console known as “Xbox Series X” and it gave a first look at the console’s unusual new design at the Game Awards. The new console from Microsoft resembles a PC tower as its design is different from a traditional console. While unveiling the cube-shaped ‘Xbox Series X’, the company said that one can us it while lying down or standing up.
The new console has a redesigned controller and it has a new share button to allow people to post screenshots and videos with ease. Microsoft added that every Xbox Series X has got a controller that will be compatible with the current Xbox One and PCs. While announcing the launch time of the Xbox, the company said that it will come out in the holiday period in 2020 at the time of the release of the PlayStation 5. It will make it possible to play old Xbox games and use the old console’s accessories.
The company has described the console under the codename “Project Scarlett” but it has not provided much information about the specs. However, Microsoft pointed it would be having a world class visuals in 4K at 60 FPS that with a possibility to reach upto 120FPS. It also added that the console would be powered by their custom-designed processor leveraging the latest Zen 2 and next generation the RDNA architecture from their partners at AMD. Xbox chief Phil Spencer revealed that the Series X will have four times more CPU performance than the Xbox One and its GPU power will be double to that of Xbox One X.
